Junior gymnast does well in competition St. Simon School 7th-grader posts the 2nd-best vault score in a meet with Canada. Star Report October 14, 2004 Gymnast Samantha Peszek of McCordsville competed with the USA Junior Women's National team in a dual meet against Canada in Texas on Sunday. Peszek is a seventh-grader at St. Simon the Apostle School in Lawrence Township and trains at DeVeau's School of Gymnastics in Fishers. Although she competed at the exhibition level and did not make the top four to advance to the today through Sunday Junior Pan American Championships in San Salvador, El Salvador, she hit all four of her routines. Peszek's 9.425 score on vault was second-best in the competition and higher than every Canadian gymnast. She earned a 9.025 on the uneven bars, 9.325 on the balance beam and 9.300 on the floor exercise. The United States won the meet 113.5 to 104.6. Samantha Peszek competes in USA-Canada Dual Competition Samantha Peszek competed in her first international competition, a dual meet with Canada, Oct. 11, in Houston, Texas, at the U.S. women’s National Training Center. USA easily won the dual meet with a team score of 113.5 to Canada’s 104.6. Samantha competed exhibition for the USA and hit all four events scoring 37.075.
